The American Kennel Club (AKC®), a not-for-profit organization, the world’s largest purebred dog registry and leading advocate for dogs, is pleased to announce the recipients of the Junior Scholarships awarded to those who compete in Companion Events.  Scholarships totaling $10,000 were awarded to the following recipients.

“These Juniors have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to their education and competing in Companion events,” said Mari-Beth O’ Neill, VP of Sport Services. “We are proud to support their educational aspirations and look forward to seeing what they do in the future.”

Danielle Wagner from Savage, MI:

Danielle competes in Agility, Obedience, and Rally with her Border Collie and Papillon. She is attending Augsburg University majoring in Psychology.

Logann Beaulieu from Belchertown, MA:

Logann competes in Agility, Rally, and Therapy Dog with her Pembrooke Welsh Corgi. Logann is a member of the Pioneer Valley Kennel Club. She is planning a pre-veterinary course of study.

Caroline Hall from Granby, CT:

Caroline competes in Rally. She has been active in 4-H and volunteers to steward for Rally at local events. Caroline competes with her Beagle and her All-American Dog. Caroline plans to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies.

Trenton Stevens from Ridgefield, WA:

Trenton competes in Agility with his Border Collie and Australian Shepherd. Trenton participates in 4-H and is a member of the Greater Clark County Kennel Club. He is currently attending Clark College and interested in International Relations.

Olivia Uyeno from La Habra Heights, CA:

Olivia competes in Rally and Agility with her Standard Manchester Terrier, Golden Retriever and Belgian Malinois. Olivia will be a second year Animal Science Major at Colorado State University.

Carie Dumont from Chandler, AZ:

Carie competes in Agility and Obedience with a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. She is a member of the Border Collie Club of Arizona, Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of American and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of Southern California. Carie plans to study Aerospace Engineering.

Kathryn Doane from Lake Genevea, WI:

Kathryn competes in Agility and Obedience with her Golden Retriever, Irish Setter, and English Springer Spaniel. Kathryn is attending Carroll University majoring in Elementary Education.

Ava Hada from Menifee, CA:

Ava competes in Agility, Obedience and Rally with her Dachshund, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Flat Coat Retriever, and Beagle. Ava attends UCLA and is interested in Psychology Disability Studies.
