Early this morning, the U.S. House Agriculture Committee approved a House Farm Bill (H.R. 8467) that supports important priorities for dog enthusiasts and responsible breeders, including canine health, welfare and the rights of responsible dog owners. The bill was also approved without problematic potential amendments outlined in the May 17 alert.

We thank everyone who received our previous alert and contacted their member of Congress in the House Agriculture Committee in support of base text related to Title 12 in the 2024 Farm Bill.  Your engagement made a difference!

We urge you to take a moment to also thank your member of Congress for approving the Farm Bill in Committee with important priorities for dog enthusiasts and responsible breeders. Your thank you will be appreciated and will remind them to avoid bad amendments when the bill comes back for a vote by the full House.
