The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) has proposed new rules applying to field trials on its properties. If adopted, changes include:
- Starting January 1, 2025, the costs for permits for pointing, retrieving, and flushing breed field trials would increase, from $70 to $100 per day.
- Starting January 1, 2025, the costs for permits for beagle and coonhound field trials would increase, from $25 to $40 per day.
- Waiving IDNR site activity permit fees for field trial permits.
- Adds the World Shooting and Recreational Complex to the list of Class A field trial sites; and limits trials at the Complex to areas north of Cardinal Road, while areas south of Cardinal Road can be used for trials only outside the normal camping season (April 1-October 31) or as allowed by the Complex.
- Removes the Chain O’Lakes State Park from the list of Class B field trial sites.
